Mr. Prasenjeet Shrikrishna Fadnavis is a technocrat with qualifications in Computer Science and Law and has over three decades of experience in telecom, banking, cyber laws, education, and rural development. He currently holds the position of Executive Director – Corporate Relations at Dr. D. Y. Patil Business School, Pune. He has also been associated with leading educational institutions, including Savitribai Phule Pune University and Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University. He is also involved in social services.
The bank received four nominations by the deadline of 6th March 2026. The candidates were Reena Jha Tripathi, Alok Jain, Ruma Dey, and Prasenjeet Shrikrishna Fadnavis. Each candidate was accorded “Fit and Proper” status by the bank’s Board of Directors, in compliance with the Reserve Bank of India (Commercial Banks – Governance) Directions, 2025.
Remote voting for the election was available from 9.00 am on 18th March 2026 until 5.00 pm on 22nd March 2026, as well as during the EGM. The appointment of Shri Prabhat Kiran as Executive Director received 6,76,74,02,215 votes in favour. For the Shareholder Director election, Shri Prasenjeet Shrikrishna Fadnavis secured 890,790,173 votes. The total votes considered for Shri Prabhat Kiran’s appointment were 6,92,13,87,007.
Prior to joining the Bank, Shri Prabhat Kiran served as Chief General Manager (CGM) heading the Large Corporate Credit Wing of Canara Bank, where he oversaw key credit portfolios and strategic lending operations. He brings with him a wealth of experience spanning over three decades in the banking industry. Shri Prabhat Kiran joined Canara Bank in 1996, and over the years, he has held several important roles contributing significantly to the organization’s growth and transformation.
His academic background includes a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration, which complements his deep understanding of financial management, corporate credit analysis, and policy formulation.
With his strong expertise in large corporate credit, strategic planning, and operational leadership, his appointment as Executive Director marks an important milestone for Bank of Maharashtra. His professional approach and strong knowledge are expected to further strengthen the Bank’s leadership team and support its growth, innovation, and customer service as the Bank continues its expansion and modernization.
